Work on this project is on pause for a very good reason: I've had to take over the building of another website.
After 2 years & 2 webdesigners with the result of no functional website, I had to say "Enough is enough, I'll do the f**ker myself!".
So currently most of my time is used up building www.skilledexforces.com which will be "The First & Only International Directory for Self-Employed Armed Forces Veterans".
The UK version is now 90% complete & taking ads. All Military Charities & Veteran Owned Businesses are entitled to a FREE Advert.

I envisage, getting back to work on this project fully around July 2012, however a few bits may pop up before.

Please leave comments/suggestions of the kind of things you think would benefit in making transition to civvy street easier (mainly in business, but other areas considered); & I'll see if I can "make it so!"

As promised the videos on how to quickly, easily & most importantly; cheaply build your own website are live. I said they'd be up by the first week in March; & they were. I just forgot to make them visible online, oops! So sorry about that, but you can see them now. The promised videos are very near completion. More delays, due to now having to build yet another website: www.skilledexforces.com. As the saying goes "dont know my a from my elbow" right now.

It may appear not much has been happening with no comments, or the promised videos not appearing yet, but things have been a little hectic. Hosting on my own website came up for renewal & caught be off guard. To be a bit of a tight arse I've transferred the hosting over to weebly, which means I've had to rebuild the whole thing. This should be finished in the next few days & then I can concentrate on this one again.

The good news is I've learnt some interesting & useful tit-bits during the process, which I'll be sharing with you to help with your success.

Well I've recorded building a website from scratch, it ain't nothing super fancy, but I'm no webdesigner & it took me less than 4 hours from start to finish. This included cigarette breaks
I'm going to tidy up the recording & add a voice over, but will be publishing them on this website very soon.

Having spoken to a few Veterans who want to set up their own business; one thing they said they'd be interested in was learning how to put a basic website together without having to shell out to a webdesigner, & only having basic computer skills themselves.
This pretty much describes my skill level too with computers.
So over the next few days I'm going to create one from scratch using weebly & record the process in real time using Camtasia.
Once done, I may have to edit a few bits out, but will be putting these videos up for FREE to help with YOUR success in Civvy Street.

There won't be much happening to the site over the next couple of days, because I'm preparing to do a presentation to some ex-forces guys this week, who are currently being looked after at Her Majesties pleasure at HMP Stafford.
I donated a copy of my book, "PTSD - A Self-Help Survival Guide", & they liked it so much, they asked me to come & speak.

BTW, the book is now available through Amazon.com if you want to get a copy. Although I will be selling signed copies through this site soon.

After over 18 months of getting messed around by web designers, I have taken back control & have decided to build the damn thing myself.
I will post regular updates of how this website aims to help Armed Forces Personnel & Veterans to make a smooth transition to Civvy Street.
One caveat, my aim is not to focus on getting you a job when you are demobbed, although I will certainly add this kind of information if it is requested.
No, the aim of this website is to help you to achieve success in Civvy Street, & the best way to do this is to become your own boss!
